y8 or z6 head will work...

and by quick? lol whats quick to you?

stock d16 can handle 180-220whp safely, mustang dyno more like 180, dynojet more like 220(thats quick to most people) your looking at 2-4 grand depending on how well you shop around

built bottom end d16 (rods, pistons, bearings, new water pump, ported oil pump, honed, bored etc...) will get you above 300whp. (thats quick by anyones standards) probably another 1000+ over the build above, and its about as far as you want to go on pump gas

built bottom end with sleeves, built head, (springs, retainers, camshaft, stainless steal valves, cam gear, intake mani, throttle body, machine work etc...) your going to need beefier axles to eventually... a build like this will get you well above 400 if you want on race gas, and your lookin at tacking on another 2-3 grand on top of it all

so basically, if you want the most insane sohc monster look at spending 8+ grand EASY, and thats you doing all the work...

my build started at stock turbo d16, and eventually worked its way up to being about 400whp capable, and the first install went belly up, 60+ hours of labor wasted because i didnt do enough research on the build... turboing a civic is definately not an easy task
