I can't really see the crosshatch pattern in that picture. Can you put up some closer view pics?

There's an oil site I've been meaning to read through. My friend showed it to me before, the link is:

http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/

There's a forum on this site too (The link is in the first paragraph of that page listed above). I'm sure you can find people who've done oil analyses for stock integras and DOHC civics. You might want to look through this site since the oil appropriate for your car depends on what your weather and driving conditions are. In other words...what works best for your b16 in a Miami summer may be less than optimal in a Denver winter. People in the the forums for this site get oil analyses done and post the results there for all sorts of cars and weather conditions.

The machinist's job looks pretty good. Have fun with your build!

I believe most of the users on the site I linked above are in America. On that site, you'll probably want to look for oil analyses from users in cold American areas...I'm guessing Denver and some New England cities like NY will most closely resemble weather for the UK. Another thing to consider is the amount of traffic in your region, as that too can affect what kind of wear your engine undergoes and what oil would appropriate for you. I'd try to match the results of users in larger cities if you're in gridlock most of the time.

Then again, you could just take a sample your oil a few times over the next few months and pay ~$30 each time for your own oil analyses and the labs can tell you what's best for your driving conditions...I'm cheaper than that though https://www.hondacivicforum.com/image/s4.gif

I like the pic updates, keep em coming!

I'm not sure what you'd want to do with the bearings, I've only worked on the top end of my engine before. I suppose if you're using the same crankshaft, you might want to use plastigauge to check it for wear before installing your new bearings. Otherwise, I'm also curious what you could/should do.
