H vs. B

So as of now I wanna get a H22A JDM cause of its high stock numbers. But I heard the B's (Best one the B18C5?) take mods very well and they seem to be all the hype right now. I heard the H cant be bored as much as the B cause of its thin sleeves. Well my question is, will the H out do the B? I will be adding a turbo to the engine I buy. But in the end will the H with its high numbers blow away a B...both modded to the teeth?

I know if youre gonna turbo a B you should use the B18C1 over a B18C5. As for the B vs H do a search (at the top of the page) and find out all the advantages and disadvantages as this topic has been gone over a lot

the B18C1 takes to mods better than any H ive ever seen. if you dont plan on going more than basic bolt ons, then the H is for you, but everything after that you want to be going with the GSR.

Nah man the H's do as good as the C1 with mods. The H22 is a tad more "finiky" engine though and requires good parts to make fast reliably. IMO I would go H over B any day but that is IMO

h's cant be bored very far due to the frm sleeves...........however you can sleeve them and go from there. stock for stock the h will out do the b..........depending on your funds though will dictate how far you can take either engine. i would go h for the larger displacment as well as initial cost.

honestly, I would rather have a stock k20 with a basic turbo kit than either one with a mild build and a turbo. look into the K20. its a more expensive swap initially, but in the long run, its definately the best choice if you can swing the initial layout of money.

isn't it true that h's aren't the ideal motor for turbo? i might be wrong, but i think i read that somewhere.

Yea I hole heartedly agree, the K is the future and any H/B swap you do will do nothing but set you up to be a thing of the past.
