h22 in 02 civic??
 

i have an 02 civic lx, which is non vtec, as far as internals go, they are no where to be found for this motor, so i want to do a swap, the b series is a lil bit expensive, so i checked into an h22, about the same hp for alot less, but i have no idea how complicated the swap will be, any one like to give me a lil info, much appriciated

Well, a few points to be made here:

1) An h22 engine/trans. might be $2250, but it'll cost closer to $4k-$4500 once it's in the car

2) As far as I know, there are no custom mounts or axles for a 7th gen h22 swap, so you'd have to custom fabricate your own

3) For the most part (there's one exception), h22's went out of production in 2001, so you can't legally put one in your car.

I'd just save up some money and go with a b18 (still going to be illegal because the engine's older than the car) or a k20 (expensive, but one of the few legal swaps for 7th gens)

i dont need it legal, i just need to know what the easiest swap for this gen is, i thought this gen would be good to have, but im starting to notice that they didnt make a whole lot of **** for this car

I would say that you should save more money and go k-series, it would be better.

The easiest (not cheapest) swap would be a k20. I believe they make motor mounts and everything else you'd need for the swap, so it wouldn't exactly be that hard.

If you're going with a k20, just save up and get the a2, complete with 6 speed transmission... 200hp, "real" vtec (as opposed to i-vtec), a metal intake manifold, and you can downshift into 6th :D
