H22 autotentioner?

My buddy told me that on H22s, if swapped into a Civic, the autotentioner will mess up the valvetrain pretty bad unless you switch it over to a manual one. Anybody else heard this? Ive never heard it before, and with something thats this big of an issue, youd think you would hear people being warned...

RE: H22 autotentioner?

it being in a civic wont matter, but those autotensioners are crap. I would convert it over to a manual one anyway. the auto ones are really eas to screw up, and if it fails, its time for a full valve job.[&:]
