Default H22A1 Swap

I have a 97 LX and am thinking of swapping the D16Y7 with the H22A1. Does this sound like a good idea? Eventually I'm trying to get a car that can compete in some races, but still be ok on the streets. I know a little bit about engine honing, and I'm wondering if once I get some more power, that would be a good idea too?

EDIT: Also, once I do the swap, when I'm looking for parts, what kind do I want? Stillparts that are listed for 96-00 LXs or something else? Thanks

that engine is from a prelude so you would need prelude parts for it, that is a mighty powerful motor though 200hp stock i beleive, it will be a good motor for you but it isnt the easiest swap ever.

Alright, thanks for the quick answer. How much do shops charge for swaps usually? And anything about engine honing? Thanks again.

i dont really know about prices but the h22 is a bitch to swap. B series are much easier and u can get almost as if not the same ammount of horspower plus they are a few pounds lighter than the H series. not much though

maybe800 to $1000, do some more research, on what u want and what u need, u might want to do some extra work on the motor while its on the crane, maybe a new clutch, etc,,

Another question, is there any way to get a S2000 F series motor in a Civic?

the S2000 motor swap into a civic would be100 times harder to do than the H series swap.go with the H22A, it is a beast of a motor and is worth the extra money to swap. if you can't afford the H then go witha B18C.
