Tsk Tsk Tsk. street racing? keep it off the streets man. but id personally try to save up for a gsr. the ls is ok, but it just doesnt have the pull that a vtec does. vtec will respond better to mods as well. go with the new head gasket and mill the head. then start pinching pennies for a swap.

well i dont have to worry about the head gasket i sold the car yesterday to some kid i met at a car show that i was at and he asked me if i would sell it to him for 1,000 dollars keep in mind i only paid 500 for the thing and put a set of civic HX rims on it and a universal muffler. i told the kid that i paid 800 for it and he said that he would give me a grand so i sold it. The kid even knew that it needed a head gasket but he came to my house last night called his dad and they gave me the money and towed the car away. I am anxious to see what they r going to do with it.

What should the cost be to have a machine shop mill the head a little?

If I have a machine shop mill the head what additional products would I need (recommended) to reinstall the head? (Besides a new head gasket) Also would it need to be a special head gasket or just the standard? Thanks!!

i would recommend an adj. cam gear, and you need new head bolts, a new head gasket, and i'd recommend a new intake and exhaust gaskets, along with a new timing belt and water pump. you dont need all of it (though i wouldnt do it w/o the gaskets and bolts) but thats the best way. it will save you a lot of headaches later on.

Wouldn't I be able to use the same head bolts? What would be different with new ones?

it was 40 bucks but i dont have to worry about it anymore cause i sold the car. The kid called me up and told that he had put a turboed GSR motor in it with a type R trans i am going to see it this weekend. He says that he is runnign like 13 PSI, what do u think that would run in a quarter

do NOT reuse the stock head bolts. they are made to stretch slightly to maintain proper tension when they are torqued. they should never be torqued down twice. if you want an upgrade, go with arp studs, they can be reused and are a lot stronger. if its a basic street setup you shouldnt need em though. as for the turbo gsr, it should run high twelves if he can hook up. the lsd in the type r trans will help a lot. but, 13 psi on a gsr motor is a lot. if he has any tuning gremlins he could pop that motor in no time flat. im planning like 4-7 on my gsr. safe and quick.
