head question

Alright, im new to this place so hopefully i will be visiting it often to do research and what not. But here it goes, im buying an 88 crx dx with the 1.5 motor, it broke a timing belt so i need to get a new head for it. I was wondering what heads will bolt up to this, im trying to expand my horizons so i can get a relatively good deal. I was wondering if any later engine heads will work or the hf head, or what not? Im getting the CRX for cheap so id like to get it up and running for a while so i can do body work and drive it also. Evenutally i plan to do a swap of some sort and restore the car, but in the mean time id just like to have a second running car around.
Thanx,
Jeff

d16z6 or d16y8 from a sohc vtec. Y8 will make a bit more power, but the z6 is a bit easier to install.

Just so everything's clear, we're talking about putting a 5 or 6G VTEC head on (basically) a 4G non-VTEC block... you'll AT LEAST need to rewire it and buy a new ECU. Have fun! ;)

lol yeh man your better off just getting the replacement head so you dont have to deal wtih wiring and changing ecus and crap. if you ever want some power for that little motor then of course the v-tec head the way to go but i suggest just getting a whole new engine buuuut thats just mine opinion. but oh yeh dont forget to change your head gasket for safety :D
