help :(

so i have been working on my crx for a long while now slowly putting money into it to fix small things...i just put on a 94 civic ex d16z6 head on the 93 civic dx d15b7 block and have had no luck with it starting...with puttin on the new head i have also replaced.... distributor-timing belt-spark plugs-all gaskets for head and valve cover-starter-battery.... i do not have a p28 computer to run the vtec but i was told that the car will run just fine with out it... now for some reason i cant get the car to start....i have spark and gas getting in the cylinders but still no firing... i have been trying to time the distributor but no luck...im 120% positive the timing on the motor is perfect.. just not the distributor...

please respond i have been with out a car for 2 months now :( any tips please help...

Rotate the rotor 180 degrees?

If you are getting spark and fuel the the engine should fire all other things being equal.

the rotor goes in only one way....???

Have you tried a compression test yet?

Are your spark plug and fuel injector wires installed in the correct firing order?

candyman420 07-18-2009 09:18 AM

not with the new head on...

candyman420 07-18-2009 09:19 AM

yes fuel injector wires are right wuts the order for the plug wires on the distributor?

1 Attachment(s)
Cylinder order is 4-3-2-1 from distributor to timing belt.

Attachment 18291

ok so that is right also... let me put the distributor back in i just bought new cap and rotor.... let me see what happens wut else might not let it start?

Is the CEL ON?

Is the spark bright white-bluish or weak orange?

As mentioned already, you should compression test the cylinders if nothing else obvious is found.
