help me please
 

Ok i know this aint about deckin out the engine with performance parts but i really need some help and dont know where else to turn. I recently got a 92 civic lx automatic from a friend for cheap. it had sat for a year due to a tranny leak. I fixed the leak (tranny coolant hose) and ive got her running. The problem is she hesitates and bogs horribly. if i unplug the idle air control the idle drops to 500. ive done the vacuum leak test in the haynes manual... the one about putting your finger over the hole in the tb and its good.

1) it idles at about 800rpms is that where it should be?

2) the idle doesnt always stay steady though it idles at about 1500 for the warm up process then normally settles to 800 but sometime it jumps back and forth from 1000 to 1100. whats the problem?

3) what are all the possibilities for the cause of the hesitation/bogging?

also my throttle body makes a whistling sound at idle. i think it may be the throttle plate not shutting completely but im not sure. what could do it and how can i fix it? (its not the sri)


ive changed wires, plugs, oil, tranny fluid, o2 sensor, fuel filter, cleaned grounds, cleaned injectors and fuel rail, new battery, sri, and a few minor things.

please help me your my last hope. ive put so many hours into this car it aint even funny. i am completely stumped at what the problem is. [&o]
