Honda Civic 150i (Year 2005): Strange Sound When Turning Power Steering Wheel

Hi all,

I am turning to the expertise of the members of this forum for a solution to my problem.
Since a few days I have noticed a strange sound which accompanies the engine sound and which can be heard for a few seconds whenever the accelerating pedal is released. I have tried turning the steering wheel completely to the right and then to the left and have noticed that the sound lasts a little longer . I have also noticed that the power steering fluid is overflowing from the reservoir.
Any ideas on where the problem might be and how to solve it?

rgds,
Smet

Whens the last time you flushed and replaced the P/S fluid? Sounds like there could be some gunk in the rack and possibly clogged up the lines or maybe one of the lines is pinched somehow. Has it gotten any harder to turn the steering wheel?

Thanks for your reply.
The P/S fluid has never been flushed and replaced yet. The car has run only 69,000 Kms and is 4 yr old. The steering wheel is not harder.

Smet
