ya just keep pullen....... ive had that happen several times...... sometimes it just BITES harder it SHOULDNT strip the threads with trying to remove it.... just be sure the socket is on the bolt completly so it doesnt slip off and strip the head off the bolt....

just HULK UP and PULL HARDER. LMFAO

 

Yeah I got the breaker bar and Im trying to keep it from slipping off the bolt. Its frickin retarded I really hope I can get it off.

 

I seriously can't get the hex socket to stay on with the breaker bar. Everytime I start to turn it keeps like popping off. What should I do????????? This is so frickin dumb!!!!!!!!!!

 

are you using a deep socket to get it off or something.

 

use a boxed wrench then... the closed side not the open end side or it will strip!

it can stick preaty good sometimes.....

also easier to pull DOWN on the wrench rather than pushing it sidewalls or straight up....

 

You think the boxed wrench would do it? I've gotta buy one then because I don't have a 17mm one. I'm just not sure though because the bolt head's edges are already worn a little and I don't want to round it out completely. The socket on my breaker bar still fits it its just it keeps sliding off.

 

well if ya dont think it will DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND WAIT till tomorow.... go buy a NEW drain plug to replace it with..... then retry..... if you CANNT get the bolt out still take it to a oil change place and tell them to bust out the air tools.. thats IF you dont have your own.... then use the NEW bolt by hand wrench

if you got some air tools USE THEM.... they will do it cause you can put pressure HARD into the bolt to keep it fully on.......



with a box wrench the thing is youll have a STRAIGHT pull which will be beter than using a standard socket wrench..

 

My mom's boyfriend has some air tools. Yeah the bolt head isn't stripped completely or anything because the hex socket still fits and everything but it is worn some, so I think I should just leave it alone for now. I also thought about, what if I could get it cold enough since metal shrinks when cold, if I could get it cold enough like with dry ice or something it might come out easier?
