RE: how do i advance timing?

well normally you would turn the distributor towards the firewall, but i don't think you have a distributor (correct me if i'm wrong). if you don't have a distributor, you'll need an adjustable cam gear to advance your timing. why do you want to advance it anyway?

^Cam timing and ignition timing aren't the same thing.

Ignition timing is determined by the ECU. The service manual states that if the ignition timing is out of spec, then replace the ECU. No mention is made of any way to alter the timing.
