How to tune b16a to 10000 rmp safely ?
 

Does any body know how to get b16a engines to rev upto 9500-10000 rmp safely... what are the major and important modifications needed? There should be a result in power between 8000-10000 rpm....

if its going to go that high more than once or twice, you need to build the bottom end. new pistons (you dont "have to" upgrade these, but you should do it now to get the compression where you need it, 12:1+) conrods, all ARP hardware, and everything balanced and blueprinted to a zero-balance. Then you get into the head. new cams, springs, retainers, lightweight valves, port and polish, and most important, individual throttle bodies. a manifold wont make power that high. now, for just the head, expect to spend at least $2-2500, bottom end, $1500-2500, and for a real set of ITBs, expect to spend at least $1500-2500. plus all the fuel system upgrades and a good standalone computer, or a Hondata S300. figure another $1-2K for all that.

if you were only gonna do one thing to the engine i would highly recommend valve springs because you dont want to float the valves....

You are going to have to lighten the hell out of the valvetrain. Then forged shotpeened rods, crank, better pistons, blueprinting, balancing... etc...

Unless you are building a pure race car (I honestly don't know why anyone would make a civic into a race car, no offense to anyone, just IMO) then this is way too much money and effort. But then again if you're building a race car, then you should have the money for this kind of project... if you don't, then you can't afford to have a race car.

screw the valve train.....just do rods and pistons and run 20 psi.

how much does a balance and blueprint cost?
