Hydrolocked??
 

So today i was driving home from work and it was raining really heavy , there were a couple of puddles but nothing too big , or nothing i havnt driven over before. i went through a puddle maybe 3 or 4 inches deep and a while after that my car just shut off. and it did not start. so once i got home i tried to start it and nothing , i checked to see if the engine was turning and it wasnt so when it finally turned i when ahead and stared it but it soundes like something was loose onside the engine so i shut it off right away. could it be hydrolocked? and is it even worht it repearing it?

If the puddle was really only 4" deep there is no way you sucked water into the intake. How did you get the car home??

my dad pulled it with his truck , so i guess i'll just have to open the engine up and see whats going on

I agree with MXS, unless the after market intake is pointed right at where the water splash enter. Did you remove your bottom plastic shield and is the intake near that area? If think you have water, remove the spark plug and use shop vac and suck the water out. Then try and start it using like starter spray. Don’t remove the head unless you have to.

Do it fast befoe it rust.

Is yours like that? If so, then I can see how the water could get into the engine only if the shield was missing.

i have an aem v2 and the plastic shield is there. im just afraid that i fi start it something will just get more messed up since the last time i tried to start it there was a noise like there was something loose inside the engine.

Well, the noise may just be the water in the engine. You really should pull the spark plug out and use shop vac to suck water out. You can check the shop vac for water. The engine is not going to run well with water in it but it will eventually be burn and purge out. If you do not want to run the engine then sucks the water out anyway and you can spray water displacement to protect the internal engine. Change your oil as well because the water can work it way around the piston.
