I Need to beat 5.0's
ORIGINAL: riceburner700
i would do an h22 head with an h23 block and crank and put some low compression pistons/ rods and a damn good turbo kit and you will hit like 250-350+ hp easily while also having a 2.4L stroker motor that sounds sweet...... h22s are like half the price for a complete swap over a b-series

It's really a matter of if you just want to beat them a few times without completely murdering them, or if you want to consistantly beat a 5.0 while keeping that same power as a daily driver. If you just want to win in a 1/4 mile every once in a while go with bolt ons and nitrous, but if you want something that constantly has power, boost your stock d-series engine. Check out pete's turbo shopping list to get an idea of what you need then watch ebay like a hawk to find some good prices. With you d-series boosted and some fuel delivery things adjusted you can constitanly beat 5.0's while keeping good reliability. Plus then if you want to make it even faster all you have to do is build up the engine with lower compression and much stronger parts, then turn the boost WAY up and you could MURDER most 5.0's out there*.
best of luck!
Evan
*By most 5.0's out there I mean ones that don't have a lot of money dropped into them. Try running a stroked 5.0 with 4.10 gears and tons of bolt ons. It wouldn't be too much fun.

I sure hope you do have some stuff done to your car besides IHE. If you are rebuilt you might be alright, or if you are boosted, or both. If you just have bolt-ons though I'm gonna have to burst your bubble and let you know you won't run 13's.
(I obviously have no clue what you have done to you're car, so if it can beat 5.0's excuse me and more power to you, although if you have some to spare you could loan me some

Haha, ok good. I didn't want to be the first one to burst you're bubble that a stock civic will lose to a 5.0. But yeah, with that set up you should DEFINATELY win. As long as the 5.0 you race doesn't have any major mods you will def. win!
