Default I need quick answer. about knock sensor

the car i bought doesnt have the knock sensor installed it has the d16y8 any one have any ideas where it is located i was told on top of th oil filter but there is another sensor there help please

That's a sensor that I don't have a good diagram to post. If anyone has a nice photo to post, please do so.

This might help -- It's located on the back side of the block and has a single Red/Blu wire connected to it.

Wait... I thought d16's don't have knock sensors.... right? I thought that was b series stuff.

i found it it was hard bcuse it didnt have a sensor in there it was empty i had to put it on.. it was a bitch to put it on. i shoulda took pics my bad haha.. and yes d series has them to cuse i put it on haha.. thanks guys

Did a little research on that.... should have done it before hand, but oh well. It seems that only obd2 d16s have that... and they are interchangeable with b series.

obd2 is a 96-09 wiring and computer system and a d16 is the engine
obd0 is 84-91 civics
obd1 is 92-95 civics
obd2 is 96-09 civics

OBD = on board diagnostics
the number following it is kind of the generation of the OBD system you have.
