I'd prefer a D15 for turbo. Just me though.

if you swap to a z6 head you need the ecu.

you say a d15 swap? i have a d15b2...the reason why i am considering the z6 is because they are relatively cheaper than a b16...since i want a vtec motor ya know? and i always thought that there was a lot of cheap parts for them. so yeah i would have to get the ecu out of the car that i got the engine out of, like a 95 ex or whatever?

Eh your d15b2 will be good, just preform a "mini-me" on it. Search for that term. It consists of putting a vtec head on your non vtec block, and converting the engine to vtec via electronics.

ive heard of a mini me before, i was actually going to do that at one point. i thought that the jdm d15b is the z6, or did i just not understand that correctly.
is the jdm d15b good to handle boost though? cause that is what i plan on doing next after i get my motor.

depends on the VTEC. DOHC VTEC is designed for power...everything else is basically economy.

the JDM D15B is a whole beast of its own. when you get down to the grit of it, its a D15 block with a d16 crank and rods with its own pistons, and a z6 head with its own, more agressive cam.
