intake manifold ?

my friend has a intake manifold for my 98 civic ex. it's ported and came from antoher ex civic motor. he's not using it because he has a aftermarket manifold for his turbo civic. he's willing to sell it to me for $40. is it worth it? how much hp gain would i get from a ported intake manifold? my mods are 9.3 mm apc spark plug wires, a.e.m. sri, 2 1/4 exhaust from the catback and a matrix tunable muffler. i also have the timing advanced 1 degree.

Well, since you have the exact same manifold, I wouldn't expect more than 1Hp, if that. How much is it ported out? It really negates any porting unless you have a port matched throttle body.

RE: intake manifold ?

what if i purchase a bbk 62mm throttle body? would that be sufficent?

also he wasn't going to port it out too much. he said it's not worth the risk of over porting. as far as how much i don't know. all i know it would be only a little bit.

now much is it ported?

it wont help power much, but it will help throttle response, which will make it feel like you have more low end power.
