integra head swap

ok im new to hondas and dont know what kind of engine i have but its a 1998 5 speed, 1.6 litre bottom of the line car, no power i cant even tell if its an ex, cx, hx, or whatever but theres a 1990-1993 body style integra with the stock dohc engine in it at a local junk yard and i was wondering if you can do a direct head swap from that car to mine so mine would go from a sohc to dohc.......any help would be appreciated and if it is possible how much would a head cost or run me? thanks

RE: integra head swap

you can't just do a head swap to get a dohc motor. you need to change the whole thing. right now you have a d-series motor and the 90-93 integra motor is a b-series.

RE: integra head swap

A dohc head will not swap to a sohc head.

RE: integra head swap

ok so i would have to take the whole engine? would i need almost everthing and would it be a worthy swap or no? what type of engine is used on integras stock for that year?

RE: integra head swap

If you live in an emission controlled state that will not be a street legal swap. When you go for emissions you will fail because that motor is older than your car. If your going to do a swap find a swap out of the same year or newer vehicle and make sure you get all the parts you need, engine, tranny,, ecu, wiring harness, shift linkage, etc.
