internals?

I have a D16Y8 and want to boost it in the future and want to know if i should build my engine up first or just turbo it stock if so which internals should I do
thanks and sorry if this question has been answered before but couldnt find anything when i searched it

RE: internals?

of course it all depends on how much boost and/or overall whp youre shooting for.

RE: internals?

build ur internals up first and then boost, at least u can run a higher psi then without blowing ur engine, if u decide to not replace ur internals then just run a low boost like 5-6 psi

and tune your car

RE: internals?

Make sure if you are getting turbo, and running higher boost you get a good tune and if you are runnning more than 7-8 PSI your pushing it for that SOHC.

Internals wise? rods, Pistons (change so lower compression for more boost) althought i beleive that is a rumour. Someone complete my list?

RE: internals?

do your engine first that what im doing pistons, rings, rods, slevees everything, but i aint going to lower the compression of my car...the thingis that your engine dont have much torque so if you lower the compression is going to take forever u rpm to go upinto you get boost is truth that u can boost more but u loss torque and if you wanna do it right do the head, port and polish, cam everything........is going to cost u some money but this hobby is expensive...good luck
