Default Internals suggestion

Hey everyone. I own a 99 EX y8. After scrapping many ideas, I have decided to keep the stock d16 in the car (mainly due to cost).

I have, but not installed, Crower stage 2 camshaft, Supertech valve springs and titanium retainers, Skunk2 cam gear, Cometic head gasket, ARP head bolts and studs. However, I have installed a CAI, and DC header.

Eventually, I will install an air intake mani, slightly bigger throttle body, bigger injectors, fuel rail and pressure regulator. When the money is available.

I guess my question is, is there anything else you would suggest (internally) that I could install while I have the head taken apart? Spoke with my friend, he said upgrading valves requires machine work etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks

it wouldnt be a bad idea to have a 3 angle valve job performed on the valve seat if you put brand new valves in there. A decent port and polish you can do while the head is off

If iwas to port and polish, wouldn't that require a bigger HG? Right now, theone I have sitting in the Cometic package is75.5mm. I dont think I will be installing new valves due to the required machine work. Thanks for the reply riceburner.

You won't need a bigger head gasket for a P&P.
