JDM D15B in a 94 civic hatch
hey guys, I have a 1994 civic cx hatch, which I think has the d15b8 sohc engine in it, wih only 70hp? Anyways, I was thinking about getting this swap
http://www.speedtechracing.com/product_page.php?id=25# here are the specs for quick glance: SOHC, VTEC, 16 Valve Displacement 1590cc Horsepower 125hp@6600rpm Torque 106lbs-ft@5200rpm Compression 9.2:1 Bore 75mm Stroke 90mm OBD 1 Redline 7000 Transmission Hydrualic so the swap includes everything you need, they call it a complete swap (transmission, ECU, everything) And the engine is still a sohc but it is vtec, and it does put out about 125hp, which is a 55hp gain from what i have right now. I would be turboing it later if possible, I want to do a d build up. Anyways, what are some things I should be asking these guys about this engine/tranny, and is it a worthy upgrade, considering the price $866 canadian? I can barely equip my car with high quality i/h/e for that price, unless i really look for bargains. |
RE: JDM D15B in a 94 civic hatch
that is a drop in swap. the only thin you will need to do is add the nessesary wires for vtec actualtion into your ecu wiring harness.
all you stock intake and header, etc will work too. |

ok cool, and then if i get the swap i will upgrade the i/h/e afterwards. I will get the shop to do the swap though, to make sure its done right.

Does he need tghe WHOLE swap, assuming he already has a power steering pump, ac pump, etc. To save a few bucks couldn't he just buy the motor, injectors, ecu and dizzy? It seems like he would already have everything else coming from the d15.
