JDM D15b can i get the whole story?

ok, so i have been searching everyday for info on what internal parts will fit the JDM D15b(which i learned is essentially a VX bottom and a D16z6 head). and never came up with a definitive answer, like what rods and piston combo will work(aftermaket), with no interference? i heard i have to run a thick head gasket(like cometic)......what cams can i run? ect ect ect. becasue i want to swap one in to take the place of my slow d15b7 then boost the d15b...any help would be greatly appreciated

RE: JDM D15b can i get the whole story?

The D15B has the same head as the Z6 so any cam that will run in a Z6 will run in a D15B (eg. ZEX 59300).

The deck on the D15B is shorter then the Z6
The stroke of the D15B is 84.5mm, the Z6 has a stroke of 90mm
Rods are the same length.
D15B crank bearings are different size then D16
D15B rod journal is the same as D16s.

Thats all the differences. As for pistons, you can use Vitaras on Z6 rods but they will stick out of the block a little, not a big deal.

Unless you get a stroker kit or special rods made, aftermarket rods are stock length. My tuner toys rods were only around $260 shipped and I know they will hold more power than a street civic will ever need. You will have to notch the block for clearence with almost any H-beam, I'm not sure about I-beams though
