Jdm d15b swap?

I have a 93 lx with the stock d15b7 and was looking for an easy vtec swap. I saw the jdm d15b motors and thought it looked good for the price. What else will be needed to do this swap? Alsowhat tranny would work best with this motor?

Thanks

RE: Jdm d15b swap?

D15b should be a direct swap with any D series. It uses same mounts, and ECU, and it's not powerful enough to need stronger axels. Should just be a direct fit.

RE: Jdm d15b swap?

Depending on the condition of your current motor, you could just swap a z6 or y8 head onto your block which would give you vtec and more hp. If you want to do a whole motor swap, do a d15b JDM, not usdm cause it's the same thing you have, d16z6, or d16y8. You can use your stock trans with any of these engines.
