Low Idle and hesitation. Help!

I have a 1998 civic LE. At times the idle will drop to about 300. As I accelerate the car will not acc. and then it will grab on to the rpm and give a jolt like its hesitating. All I do is pull over and put it in park for about a minute or so and then drive away with no problems after that. I had the DTC pulle and had fault for IAC. I replaced the IAC but problem sitll persist. Spark plugs, plug wires and cap and rotor are ok. Can it be the tps sensor? Any suggestions appreciated.

Is the CEL still ON? If so, retrieve the code: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/1901557

How do you know that the spark plugs, plug wires, cap, and rotor are fine?

Also check whether the ignition timing is set to spec.

Has the timing belt ever been changed?

I had a mechanic check the plugs, wires and cap and rotor, he said they were ok. The last time they were replaced was about 1 1/2-2 years. The timing belt has never been changed. I will try and retrieve the DTC (if any new ones) when I get a chance
After reading some post It seemed like the symptoms matched for a failed tps. That is why I suspect its the tps.

A bad TPS will usually throw a CEL code. Is the CEL ON or has it been ON recently?

You also might want to check the adjustment on the throttle cable:

Prior to changing the IAC it did throw the CEL and it was for a IAC. that is why I replaced it. the throttle cable is fineIt was adjusted when the IAC was replaced. No the CEL has not came on after replacing the IAC.

Could also possibly be a sign that the fuel filter needs to be replaced or that the throttle body itself is bad.

Just checked for DTC. there are none. Fuel filter is a good possibility. I have not changed that out. I will try that and inspect the throttle body. Do you have the procedures to inspect the throttle body?

Is there a download for service manuals on this forum?

Yeah, I post diagrams from manuals as they often help with a fix, but unfortunately not always.
