melted spark plugs

Today in atuo class I took my spark plugs out just to doa lil check up and I noticed that one side on every one of the plugs was pretty melted. What could this mean? I obviously need to replace them so what kind should i get and what kind of wires should i get in the OEM 7mm size?

Remmy do you mean running lean on air/fuel? My engine is stock and all ive done lately is paint my valve cover so i dont think that would have caused it.
