Mini-me Horsepower Gains?
I got a D16Y7 and would like to do a mini-me swap and get the head milled, ported and polished. My car has 110 HP (estimate) as of now.
When im done with the mini-me swap after milling, porting and polishing how much HP can I expect my car to have? My car is stock only thing I got is a K&N air filter. Thanks |

125 at the crank. 105-110 at the wheels.

you're sitting on about 90-95hp right now at the wheels. a 15-20 gain at the wheels will feel like a lot.

will I/H/E open up that power more or will it only increase it as much as it normally does?

normally does, because you are just converting your motor to a Y8... you wont be faster than a reguler y8.

i know the y8 is a pretty low on power engine, but i test drove a 98 lx before i got my ex, and there is a very noticable difference between the two. I think you'll be happy.

and doesn't a mini me normally have a higher CR which in turn yeild a higher HP(or is this just in d15 engines; i.e. d15b7/b2)? so with a lighter car, more hp and possibly torque......should out run a d16z6 or d16y8.
and the hp should be around 15-20 more and with these small cars, it will be felt when pressing down on the gas. |
