motor mount insert help
I recently noticed my front mount was cracked, so I did the energy insert install to the mounts and was wondering if there is any, if at all, solution to the nasty idle/low rev vibration im experiencing without reverting back to regular mounts??? Also, will the vibration cause potential problems down the road or is this just another annoying annoyance?
The inserts are much firmer than the stock mounts. You can't do anything about it, the shaking will be there, it might "loosen up" a LITTLE bit as they break in a little more, but they are meant to be stiff. The motor will move less when accelerating hard which is why you get them, less energy lost in the moving of the motor, and more goes to the wheels.
Thanks man, and yeah I have noticed that the vibration has slightly decreased and the ends definetly justify the means. Now I have this "clunk",and I'm wondering if somehow I didnt torque down all the bolts securely enough. I didnt even bother with the rear inserts since energy didnt get that rear mount R&D quite right. Is it possible that the auto and manual mounts in the rear are different since I noticed that on the rear mount it says M/T? Anyways, the "clunk", I did look it up in my haynes and it does say loose engine possibility for a clunk sound on accel and deccel. Should all of the bolts be replaced as some have suggested, sure it couldnt hurt, unless it hurts the wallet??any help on this is always greatly appreciated.
i Heard that the 2door and 4door have slightly different size side mounts on drivers side, but both will fit. and if wrong one is put in. the motor will viberate.im not positive, but if you changed your side mounts, you might want to check that.
i also just ordered an insert , for my new front motor mount that i purchased. let me know how you make out.
