Mugen S2000 Racing Engine

Does anybody know about how much it would cost to get a Mugen S2000 Racing Engine in a 2000 Civic?

What else would you have to do the the car in order for it to handle the HP? I heard that the chassis wouldn't be able to handle it and it would break down.

About $20000 after all is said and done, it's and estimate, but should be about right, cause you will either need to build a custom transmission to allow the engine to work as a FWD engine, and you would have to build all mounts harness everything as custom, and same goes if you wanted to keep it RWD, you would have to modify the whole car for it, and then there is the engine, the F20C S2000 engine is about $4000 for the swap, but if it's a Mugen engine then good god that thing would be like $10,000

if your lucky youll come out at about 15'000$. Like Fiirkan said about 10k for the motor then if you do as much work as possible on your own you will probably need another 5k in parts, materials, to get a shop to do it your looking at 20k+. But remember you gotta either convert the car to RWD or the motor to FWD (id go RWD that would be so sick. Then you gotta get suspension to handle it, clutster, change out the front end to a s2000 front end most likely.

Oh yea and even if you got a engine/tranny/driveshaft with all that the shaft might not be long enough, if i remember right the civic is longer than the s2000, but i may be wrong.

Its probably more trouble than its worth unless its gonna be nothing but a project car, if its even a partial daily driver i would strongly suggest just doing a swap.

hell throw a k20a out of a type R. Theres 20 HP less than a f20c. Bot at JDM 11.5 compression.

Then boost it :) (if possible lol)

forza looks like a sick game. i'd say go k20, should be a direct swap but i could be wrong. turbo and what not, and you'll be ballin.

If you are serious about spending that kind of money on a car I would highly reccomend getting something besides a civic. Civic's are great cars and the aftermarket is incredible for them, but you would be putting 15-20k into a car that is worth maybe 8k, not sure what trim level civic you have for 23-28k you could get a hell of a lot nicer car, so my vote is if you are actually serious about spending that type of money, sell your civic and buy a 350Z or something with the money you would be spending on the engine and the money from your car.

otherwise do a normal swap like the k20, still more than i think i personally would spend on my car, but would be pretty sweet

^ I was un-aware that a 6500$ engine swap was "normal". A b16 swap in a civic is the closest thing to a "normal/typical" swap......If youre ready to dig deep into those pockets, anything is possible......but those with the know how and smarts to swap a K or F motor into a honda would know the level of difficulty involved, and the ballpark cost, prior to even doing it.

compared to swapping in a full mugen S2000 race engine into it, yes the k20 is a "normal" swap personally if i were going to swap there is no way in hell i would spend as much for a k20 swap, but since he was asking about an engine over twice the cost to install as the k i figured i would suggest it since it is close to as powerful.

sorry if this post comes off as a bit harsh, didn't intend it that way
