Default My big 2.0 litre motor build (B20VTEC)

As some of you know, my last attempt at an engine build (turbo sohc) ended up in the toilet because most of the parts were stolen from the trunk of my car. Crappy deal right? Not really.

My dad ended up feeling bad and giving me about $600 to buy back the parts. So I sat on the money for a while and really thought about what I wanted form an engine and if a turbo and a single cam were right for me. I went ahead and wrote out a list of things I wanted from an engine and my car and it turns out that N/A was the best way to go for me. So I started looking at engines that made good N/A numbers and found out that the LS/VTEC is a great little set up and not so hard on the wallet. Then I found out about the B20VTEC and the crazy N/A numbers it can put down, so that was it, B20VTEC all the way.

Here we are, a B20B long block from Tigerjapanese.com for only $531 Canadian to my door via liftgate. Great price, great engine. My plans are to get a transmission and swap parts to get it into the car asap.I would like to get a forged 27lb crank/rods/pistons in there before the swap and then do the VTEC head when its in the car. In the car right now is a D16Z6 with 266,000 kms on it and running strong.

Here are some pics:

Fresh off the truck

Heres the wheezing B20B non-vtec head inside.

Ill get some more pics up later of the big 84mm bore cylinders.

Nice I'm doing a turbo LS/Vtec build over the next 4 to 5 months as part of my complete car build. It'll be nice to see the numbers you put down.
