Cool man, have fun!

RE: MY NEWEST PROJECT
Good luck man. Mini me swaps are not very hard at all.

RE: MY NEWEST PROJECT
Paint that valve cover and you're money. Have fun with the swap. On the topic of Mini-mes, does anyone remember way back in the day when Import Tuner ran a story on it with Eclipse Auto in San Diego. They portrayed it as a "Frankenstein" venture and were totally hyping it up as an extreme mod. It's just funny how anyone with a bit of tuner knowledge under their belt can do it now a days.

RE: MY NEWEST PROJECT
a frankenstein is basically a DOHC mini-me isnt it? taking a DOHC non-vtec and putting a DOHC vtec head on it?
im with mad7s. paint the valvecover and it will be sweet. |
RE: MY NEWEST PROJECT
that is on my list of things to do with the cover. i'm thinkin of a nice shiny podwer coated blue. with polished VTEC and other letters and emblems. i want to make this look clean

RE: MY NEWEST PROJECT
Very nice... I'm in the process of swapping in a z6 head. Good luck! It's not hard at all.

RE: MY NEWEST PROJECT
No.. the only D-series motors that were DOHC were the 87-89 D16A1 and the DOHC ZC... both are 1.6, DOHC... a mini-me refers to taking a non-vtec D-series block and putting a SOHC VTEC D-series head on it...
A dual cam "mini-me" is a B-series, in which case you will hear it called LS-Vtec, CR-VTEC, GS-VTEC... it all depends on what bottom end you use |
