Default N/A ZC build... need info

hi everybody im new to this forum and looking for some ideas/info on my zc build... i have a true jdm zc(motor and tranny) and i would like to put a set of cams in it... i was looking on ebay and the only thing i could find for a zc was a set of crespo cams either stage 4 or stage 5... my original thought was go big or go home and go for the stage 5 but after looking into it more i saw that they recommend a hondat s300 for both... i guess im wondering if i could get away whith the stock ecu or even a chiped ecu and have tha car run ok?

yea if youre going "all out" you'll need a tune after
also if youre getting nasty cams you should port and polish the head, port match the intake mani (or get an aftermarket one), get a header, maybe a valve job, and have a decent intake/exhaust
you also may consider milling the head and getting adjustable cam gears

just bought ajustable cam gears... already have a full exhaust and a cold air intake. im also planning on eagle h-beam rods, dual valve springs, all new bearings and rings...
i got the mechanical part down ok. its the electronic part im a little unsure about... i know im gonna need a tune but can i just tune my existing ecu or do i need to spent like $1500 on a hondata?

when you upgrade the cams depending on what cams and the stage, your engine will be able to rev more, but the ecu wont let it go past the factory rev limit until you get it chipped and then you can get it tuned to set the rev and also your basemap to get the best performance out of your engine. its best to call around where you live and find out what program your local tuning shop uses (uberdata, hondata, chrome). also have you upgraded your flywheel, try to get a lightwhieght, it will improve your performance

you get it tuned because the engine will perform different from the fuel/air maps on the stock ECU also you might wanna think about getting a stage 1 clutch
