Need Help
So recently swapped out a d16 to a b20 in my 98 civic lx 5 speed, got the obd2 to obd1 conversion harness. Car starts right up but runs rough and when trying to drive her she stalls out..please any ideas?

Is your timing set correctly?
|
Issues
It should be but really the shop that put it in just kinda gave up so idk
|
If the shop gave up - start from basics. Compression, fuel, spark, timing. Once you know your timing belt is not off by a few teeth and all the other basics are good - let us know, we can go down some paths.

Thank you
So there is a small fuel leak on my fuel rail where the pressure gauge is, that could be the problem. Also the old motor had a crank sensor that the new motor does not have
|
So you have a JDM motor I presume. Have you made any wiring changes or ECU changes to compensate for this? I remember doing something similar when installing a JDM h22 into one of my civics in the past.

Sorta
Got the obd2 to obd1 conversion harness andthe ecu is tuned to the b20
|
What ecu and tuning software is on it? If the ECU is looking for a crank sensor and it's not there, you could have problems. I had a Hondata S300 with my H22 swapped Civic and had to splice the crank sensor signal going to the ECU with the camshaft sensor wire.
Have you checked your timing yet? Any check engine lights on? |
Havent yet
Thank you good info I haven't had a chance to check anything and I'm really doing it solo at the moment and I don't have any real tools to check anything I'm waiting to find someone to help me with it my man is out of town at work at the moment so good info though I was told that the new motor doesn't have a crank sensor so I'm not sure why the ECU that came with the new motor would read that it didn't if it didn't already but yeah these are good things to check into for sure
