NEED HELP! I tightened Valve cover screw to much!!

Hey all, when I was putting the valve cover back on my engine. I was on the last bolt and was not paying attention to how tight I was torquing it at, so I overtightened it and it snapped. From what I see, the tip snappedinto the piece that holds down the cam shaft. What should I do?? I already went to a few junk yards and tried ebay and I can't find the part anywhere. Would I be able to take the part to a mechanic so they can drill it out??? Thanks in advance for the help

Damn, now that I think about it. Isn't it called the rocker arm assembly (where the valve cover bolts would screw onto).

Mine got snapped too. Brought it to a mechanic and paid an hour labour for them to take the valve cover off, get the bolt out, and put in a new one.

Just take a thin point like a pick or something and rotate the screw around in a circle. It will come out with some time and patience.

You don't need "valve cover bolts" to replace them. Just go to the hardware store and get the same thread size and length and replace it. ;)

Last time i broke two screws off, I just took a small flat head screwdriver and hit it with a hammer to dent a little groove on the broken screw and just rotated it out with the screwdriver.

i did the same thing. EZ outs are the best. just drill a small hole, and hit it with a EZ and bam, your set
