Need some help
 

How do I go about getting a new engine exactly? I have a Honda Civic (obviously), 2004 two-door (coupe) LX, manual transmission. I have a 115 HP 1.7 L SOHC (not v-tec (grrr...wish I had one)). D-series I guess is what I would call it (D16A7? I could be wrong). Anyway, I want to put some engine in there with 200 HP (around that or so) so I can then put on a turbocharger and still make it driveable daily. (I figure bigger engine first, not as much fun to turbo a small engine). I want to do that first, save up for it and all, then mod the rest of the car (it'll be a sleeper for a while with a new engine and turbo, he he he...). I'd prefer a DOHC, but that's not crucial. Three questions: anyone have suggestions on what engine, where to get it (ya know, how much, can I sell the engine I have...?), and other than the engine, what parts do I need to put it in, what new parts that is, so I can take every bit of it down to a mechanic and have what I need for him to install it so it all works well. start with a b18c1 block (youd know that if you used 'search'), then put on a b16 head to lower compression. then you were talking about building up your engine. this would be easier BEFORE you get the turbo. pull the block, strip it, then send it somewhere to get it sleeved. a good idea would be to get a stroker kit to increce displacement (you will have to send it with the block because they need the size to sleeve it right). make sure to get a good crank, strong racing rods, and low compression pistons. then once you get that done your bottom end will be set for turbocharging. you can turbo then, but it would be a good idea to get some decent head work done (cams, cam gears, valvetrain, ect.) then get a good head porting job done and maybe a valvejob. after that, turbo it, but make sure you get it professionally tuned. and you will deffinately need a new ECU cuz the engine you have now is pretty much a completely different engine than the b18 you started with

if its a d17, then hes 7th gen and might look into a Kseries swap. it'd be a lot easier.
