New to civics. What is the biggest engine that fits?
What is the biggest either naturally or that can be bored and stroked? Are any of them compatable with the 06 6sp manual or 5sp auto? What about turboing? Alot of stuff I know, but I figured I'd try to kill as many birds at once as I could....
Thanks,

RE: New to civics. What is the biggest engine that fits?
Correct me if Im wrong, but I think the biggest that woudl fit into an 06 is a K24A2 out of an Acura TSX. There isnt as much aftermarket support YET, as with the K20A, but theyre good engines, have a high displacement, and can be turboed perrty well.
(Any K series is expensive)
Personally though, biggest isnt always best, and Id go with a JDM K20A, which will cost about 6 thousand dollars.

k20s have been known to be bored and stroked to 26 or more. theyre good for turbos as long as you have a decent borexstroke ratio.
the K series is the only series that is directly compatible with a 6spd manual.

Thanks for the info. I am new to FWD Japanese cars and find their engine designations quite confusing compared to US engine model designations....
Will the 6sp auto bolt to the K series as well AND go into a 2003-2005 civic coupe or is that just to unrealist/costly?

Mugen and Spoon make very nice engines for Hondas. Mugen is Hondas own high performance brand, kinda like mopar to dodge.
The price tags also come with the motors. How much you thinking of spending?

a k24 from a tsx would work becuase it has drive by wire throttle. it has 200 hp, and more torque than the k20a or k20z (06 si).
you could use a accord or crv/ element k24 block and use a k20 type s head or a k20z head? the k20z has balance shafts and drive by wire.
if it is going into an 03-05 you would need mounts and axles etc, but any 5 speed or 6 speed from a k series will work as long as you use the proper clutch and flywheel. also if you get a 5 speed, you can have it built into a 6 speed with the right parts for about as much as it would cost for a type r 6 spd, and you could add an aftermarket lsd. the 06 si 6 spd comes with a factory lsd.
this all depends on you budget, and how much work you want to do.

i am sorry a tsx engine would only be able to be swpped easily into an 06 civic si because they both have drive by wire. but by using other intake manifolds, throttle bodies, and computers that are not drive by wire (like a Rsx type S) you could use it.
sorry if i confused anyone
