Default New Clutch

I am getting a new clutch soon, but could someone please explain to me what the different stages are... I want one that will make my car faster but not ruin it. Thanks

I'm also looking for a new performance clutch for my boosted civic and would like to know this information too.
How many hours does a mechanic shop usually take to install a clutch?

wrong section but ill still shoot an answer

stage 1 clutch will hold around 200whp so that should be ok for the both of you

dont buy ebay brands, and a clutch might take a shop 2 1/2-3 hours, i dont know, so about 200-250 in labor, on a super rough estimate

and no clutch will make your car have more power, it will hold more power, and will grip faster, but over all it wont make you "faster", although you can shift harder.

yes they are very good names along with ACT. thank you cpl for clearing that up. you want to buy a clutch based on what kind of power you are/will be pushing. if you plan on running 250-300whp you are looking at a stage 2 or stage 3 (power that different stages holdchange w/ every company). Also you will need to think of what kind of pressure plate you will need/want. if it is a drag/strip car you will want a puck clutch, basically the less pucks you have the more harsh the engaugement. Street disks are the way to go if you are going to have these as Daily Drivers.
