new cylinder head

haven't been on here in awhile but i was just curious yall. i just bought a D16Z6 Cylinder head for my D16Y7 engine(non-VTEC) and the head pretty much comes with everything except a distributor. i was just curious where can i find a distributor for a Z6 head and how much am i looking at to install the Z6 head on my D16Y7 engine block? it was a great deal and i just had to have it. Z6 head came from a 95 Civic EX model. also, kinda a stupid question but my engine has 106 HP to it, if i add the Z6 head on the Z6 is rated at 125 HP. will i shift from 106 to 125 or will it still remain 106 HP for my engine? i know torque doesn't do squat b/c my car has 103 ft. lbs and the Z6 has a 106 ft. lbs so there really isn't any difference. I just wanted to get the Z6 head b/c it's VTEC most importantly and second i want to take yalls advice and go for a mini-me swap. Thanks. Any info would be helpful!!!!

the compression will be a little higher than the z6s, so you should have slightly higher than the 125 hp. like 130. the best thing you could do is to trade that head for a Y8 head, it will plug right in, and youll just need to add vtec wires, as well as the Y8 havign even higher compression, so you could be looking at close to 130 hp.

what car do you have? if its the 96-00 ex, then no, thats the best one. if not, then get that one. but for less than a hundred bucks, you can get the head milled and raise the compression. though thats not a good idea if you ever plan on FI.

By milled, he just means that they resurface the head and shave off a tiny bit, which will directly raise the compression. It's the same thing you take the head to a machine shop for when you replace the head gasket, but they don't just clean it.

right, it makes the chambers in the head smaller, so the ratio of the engines displacement changes, which changes the CR.
