hi whenever i pump new gas into my car the first few days and usually right after pumping the acceleration is great. Then towards the end of the week, usually when the tank is half full acceleration sucks. I used lucas fuel injector cleaner 2 months ago and i didnt really feel the difference. my car is an 01 at 58,600 miles

im asking if there is anything wrong with engine or gas line to cause that.
im using shell and have only used shell at the same gas station locally. Im afraid to mix gas or go to any other shell because the one that i use has such a spacious area and the ramps are small. |
If you think it might be the quality of the gas, try BP. No need to get anything more than regular 87 octane.
I have found BP gasoline to give me the best results by means of gas mileage. I would assume that gas that gives you the best gas mileage is probably the best quality gasoline. My first guesses though would be clogged fuel filter, weak fuel pump, or clogged fuel pump filter. Possibly water in the gas tank too. Try pouring 1/3 a bottle of seafoam into your gas tank with the next fill up, this will help rid the gas tank of possible water. |
i'll have the shop check out all that youve mentioned. But i'll wait until its really noticeable. thanks
