Newbe Looking to do a motor swap
I have a 98 civic hx with 240k on the original motor and trany.. the thing runs great but i know sooner then later I'm going to have to swap out the motor, the body looks like it just rolled of the show room floor so i figured if I'm going to go through the trouble of doing a motor and trany swap then I'm going to go all out, i have not been a huge fan of honda's until recently and i never looked into to do much to the motor before so i do not know what the difference is between the b16 and b18 and a 20 blah blah blah, so please if someone could point me in the right direction and feed me some good info that would be great. it is a 5 speed and i know i want to do a center force clutch and i know i want a turbo charged engine. so please some body give me the info i will need to know.... thanks [/B][/B][/FONT]

I am not sure how much you are looking on spending but if i were in your shoes id be looking at a b16a or a b18c those motors are more affordable than the type r motors (b16b, b18c5) and the are lower compresion which is always a + if your looking at boosting it.

if i were you i would go with a b18c1 its a fun motor just for the swap and if you plan on boostin it you wouldnt have to spend alot on internals for safety stuff. that is what i have in 94 coupe and i loved then i boosted it at 10psi with 8.5/1 je pistons that i had lyin aroudn the garage for internals i have other stuff also but i had it dyno tuned at 10psi with 383hp to the wheels and it was a fun car. but thats just my opinion
