Default Oil pan for a D16y8

Hi i am new to this forum and i have a question that has brought me a day of hell.

I ordered this oil pan from autozone and...

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...061&questions=[]

i went to install it with my brother and it doesnt have two mounts that connect to the transmission like the OEM one does. Soooo what do i do? oh and also the gasket for the oil pan that came with it seems very odd looking, like its a cicle shape that isnt flat, and alsmost seems like a universal gasket. whats up with that also??
feed back is much appreciated cuz im leakin oil as we speak!!
thanks

please explain better the circle shaped gasket.

the engine stiffeners (those mounts you are referring to) aren't part of the oil pan, they are separate. simply reuse your original ones.

no it connects up to the trannsmission. its a manual. there are little flanges that have a bolt on each side(2 sides) that connect to the transmission and the one i bought doesnt have that.

I know what they are, I just changed my oil pan gasket 2 weeks ago. They bolt to the bottom of the engine though, not the oil pan.

Or are you talking about the flywheel access plate?

no it looked like it bolted directly to the oil pan.

There are two little mounts that are bolted to the oil pan and the transmission, only the d16y8 have them.

Anyways, don't worry about them, you don't really need them.. .. I didn't installed them when I replaced my aluminum d16y8 oil pan for the d16y7 steel oil pan (which does not have the holes for the mounts).

The D16Z6 has them too, I guess they're different though. Mine are bolted to the block and not the oil pan. Same though on the transmission.

i did the exact same thing a few months ago on my previous civic... i returned the autozone crapper and looked at the one from orieley (or however you spell that) and it too was crap...
i ended up buying the one from an online honda dealer (believe it was majestic honda) which was WAY cheaper than local dealership... it was still $$$.. i think about $200...
but yeah, the crapper ones from the auto stores are lacking the two attachment points.
