Default P23-4 Head????

Does any body know what it is out of???

Im gettin ready to do a mini-me swap. I have a head, intake, tb, injectors, P28 ecu. dude i got it from said its a y8 head. The cast code is P23-4, year says it is a 95. Im not sure though, i searched for it but found nothing. I need a valve cover and dont know if it is really a y8 head... It is v-tec though, has a soleniod and what not. Im swaping it onto a y7 block... any help would be appriecated.

idk what you got but its not a y8 head, the head stamp for a y8 is p2p or p2j, are you 100% sure its p23?
cause there isnt anything on a p23 head

Yeah, im sure.

On Honda-tech.com it says this "98 EX D16Y8 Auto-----P23-2"

and

On Cylinderheads.com it say's "1996-03, 4 Cylinder SOHC 16-Valve,Civic VTEC Cast #: P2J, P23, VIN #: D16Y8"...

I dont know, i cant find anything on the p23-4 head either...

Another Question

Does the y7 valve cover fit on the y8 head??? They look exactly alike...

the -2 or -4 dont mean anything, its the first 3 digits, so i might be a y8 head,
im not sure on the y7 valve cover fitting on a y8 head, i never have tried, best way to find out is to look up the part # for the valve cover gasket and see if they match.
