parts of cyl head.?

Default parts of cyl head.?

so besides the actuall head... are the only other parts, valves, springs and retainers? just wondering

These are the parts people usually buy and replace, well the most common anyway...There are other parts too, but they usually dont need replacing.

Common parts:

Camshaft
Cam gear
Valves
Valve Springs
Retainers
Sometimes Valve Guides
Sometimes Valve Seals, Seats or Keepers
Gaskets

yup this man is right. people also do a port and polish on the head as well, but its not necessary and a lot of people on the forum said it doesnt do any difference.

Like Tyler said, the p&p isn't really necessary until you get to a point where you need maximum flow, ie putting down big numbers. It doesn't hurt, but you wont be taking full advantage of it either..

thanks but i knew about the cam, cam gear...i was really just looking more for the valve guides, and seats/keepers.... but thanks guys...you really helped out.

also, forty, mid as well get a p&p..that way if i ever do want to put down some real nice numbers..i wont have to tear it all back down.
