RE: pistons?

measure if your cylinders are out of round to see if you can use them with a dial bore gauge

They are worth about $100. When your engine gets older your cylinder walls may become warped and get out of round which would cause you to bore them slightly (.20). If you bore them, you should use 75.5mm pistons, however if you check the cylinder walls with a dial bore gauge and they are ok, then you can use the stock 75mm pistons. I think thats right.

If you dont want them, let me know.

but, if the cylinder walls are fine, and not messed up. would these pistons provide type of gain to my engine? besides maybe last longer?

RE: pistons?

if the cylinder walls are ok then yeah stick them in there, you wont gain any hp from it but you can run more boost and be safer from detonation with proper tuning off course

RE: pistons?

yeah. I might do that then if the walls arent bad i might do that depending on how much of a hastle it is. but if the walls are bad how much of a bad idea would it be to boost it with the stock pistons? im guessing that depends on how bad the walls are. but yeah i'll let you know lost if i dont use them.

RE: pistons?

clean the cylinder walls, make sure nothing is warped, then if you're going boost, then yes, i think the reliability of the lower compression would be worth it. You have them, might as well put htem to use. You might lose a little torque with the lower compression, but you can up the boost to make up for it.
