RE: port and polish

exactly what it says, it opens the air channels in the head and polishes them smooth to increase the velocity as well as the amount of air that enters the chamber. it's meant for built motors and helps with the top end power. riceburner700 actually has a small "business" that he does it at, you can ask him what all it involves.

It depends on: valve job, cams, type of head, valves (over sized or stock), ventury curve, boost, n/a etc. So many things affect the port polish.

Our 4 cylinder Honda heads arnt gonna highly benefit from a port polish because of the quality casting unless your making massive amounts of power, not to say you wont gain some. The cast iron v8's could pick up as much as 50hp from a port polish because of there poor casted heads that have tons of restrictions in them.

Heres a b16a head that i just finished that i port and polished, the whole shabang, the motors going all motor on e85 with some high compression.
