Possible Internal Upgrades?

I wnat to learn about upgrading your engine internals to make it perform better, including pistons, seals, cylinders etc. I have no clue about it though. I know you can bore out your engine to make your pistions/cylinders bigger, but other than that i have no clue. I would HIGHLY appreciate it if someononne could tell me all the differnt things you could do to your enigne interals to get better performance. Yeah it seems like a Noob question, but i guess i am a noob in this deparmtent. Thanks all :)

By non-NA I assume you have to mean forced induction? (turbo, supercharger)

Well, unfortunately I doubt you're going to find an engineer on here that can explain to you the different design techniques used in pistons to control the combustion event. A basic general aspect I can tell you is a positive CC (dome) raises compression and is used in NA motors, and a negative CC (dish) lowers compression and is used with FI. That's about all I know other than the difference between cast pistons (OEM) and forged pistons (aftermarket). Forged are stronger and lighter.

OEM rods are cast also. OEM cranks are forged.

naw i didnt mean turboed or anything, i was tlaking abotu re-building an engine from the inside out, including pistons and the likes.

EDIT: which of these would be the best: new pistons, rods, high compression pistons, valves springs retainers

No offense intended, and no need to feel bad (we all started at the same place), but I think you need to do a little research of your own at this point.
