Default putting a d15 from a 93lx 4 door in an 94 ex 4door

My son and I are thinkning of rebuilding his 94ex VTEC engine, we have a 93lx with the d15 engine that we could put in his 94 while we do the rebuild. THe question is how much od a differance are the engines? Will we have to swap out the ECU also? What other parts out have to change for this swap? We plan on doing the rebuild over the winter and have his car still on the road.
Thanks

Ouch from a vtec to a normal engine, you will definitively feel a loss in power.

yeah you will feel a difference in power, but very little of it has to do with the vtec loss. its mostly in the displacement that you'll feel the loss.
