I wouldnt say that it's easy by any means, but it can be done at home in the garage. Best advice I can give you is to BE ORGANIZED! When you pull screws/bolts/clips out keep them in marked plastic baggies. Use masking tape to mark sensors and their plugs, etc..

It'll make life a lot easier when you go to put it all back together. I highly recommend finding someone who knows what they're doing

tonys thinkin. keep everything labled and everything. i helped one of my friends change the head on his camaro and when we went to put it all back together we looked at all the bolts and were like ?????? so we had to go trial and error with it.

I helped do a swap and it wasn't that hard.

Sure, it's nice to have some advanced tools, but your basic set of tools, the engines manual, and a hydo jack will get it done.

If you don't have any friends that will help you, then what I'd do is buy the engine and take it to the shop and have them install it. Most shops will charge you out the ass for a new engine.

RE: question about engine swap!!

I went today to a local shop to check out an engine swap for my 91 dx hatch. The mech. was sellin some B15b2's for $560 and and told me he'll drop any engine for $400. I'm assuming that is a great deal. He also told me he would warranty the engine for a year. Just some feedback on drop costs.
