Question, buy rebuilt or get rebuilt engine

Well, I know my D15B7 has over 160K miles on it and the cylinder gasket needs to be replaced. I'm wondering if it is better to just get a rebuilt engine because of the mileage.

Also, is it cheaper to get it rebuilt or to buy a rebuilt engine?

Also, can you recommend any places that are reputable that sell rebuilt engines or sell used engines that are in good condition?

I won't be doing any mini-me or turbo or super-charger stuff.

RE: Question, buy rebuilt or get rebuilt engine

Cylinder gasket? Do you mean head gasket? The price that most shops will charge you to replace the head gasket and rebuild your engine will be more than the price of a new (JDM) motor.

Head gasket + timing belt + water pump (at the shop) = $750

Do it yourself and you could get that number down to $150.

JDM D15B vtec (entire swap) = $599
